Where the nests hide
Most wasp nests in Cork houses are in one of six places. If you can see wasps going in and out of a gap, we can get to the nest.
- Under the tiles, fascia boards and roof eaves
- Inside a garden shed, greenhouse or playhouse
- In a wall void, coming out around a window frame
- Under decking, patio slabs or a pile of old wood
- In a bird box, roller shutter box or chimney
- Inside an unoccupied holiday home or garage
What we do on the day
- Dust or foam into the entry hole. The powder is carried inside by the workers, so the nest is taken out from within rather than just spraying what you can see.
- Evening or early-morning work. Wasps are calmest then, which is safer for you, your pets and the neighbours.
- A clear after-instruction. Expect activity for an hour or so afterwards, then nothing. Keep the area shut for the time we give you.
- Wall voids handled properly. If the nest is inside a cavity, we work from the outside and leave no mess in your rooms.
Wasps in a wall void are often mistaken for rats scratching in the ceiling. Ring us and describe the sound — we will tell you which one you have before we come.
